CURRENT: See Special Events - Colony Days 2008 Spring Swap: On Saturday, April 26, at 9:30 - 11:00 AM, the second annual swap shop was held in the Martin Polin Room at the Atascadero Library. Members brought their "discards" and watched the items become someone else's special "treasure" to take home and enjoy. No money exchanged hands. At the end, any remaining books were contributed to the Library, and other "left-over" items were contributed to charity.
PAST:
Grape Expectations: On August 22 at 5:00 PM, the 3rd summer party was held during members enjoyed our favorite wines from our local vineyards and delicious appetizers.
Grape Expectations: On July 25 , a summer party for branch members was enjoyed at the lovely home of our past president. Members brough appetizers, salads and a variety of wine to share. Our co-presidents presented a short program introducing the goals and objectives for 2008-2009. Dawn Sedam was presented the President's "Board Member of the Year."
Grape Expectations: On June 20, the branch celebrated the Summer Solstice at a member's beautiful home to enjoy a lovely patio/lawn party. Members brought delicious snacks and goodies to share; libations were provided. Those who attended learned about the new and easy way for members, friends and the public to help support our mission via "i-give" and "e-script." See Funding Our Mission.
Spring Tea Party: On Sunday afternoon, March 9, we held a tea party at the lovely home of our president. It was exceptionally well attended by members, 3 prospective members, and friends. Seven relatively new members were recognized. There was a variety of fancy tea goodies to enjoy. Many members dressed in green and celebrated our theme - "The Luck of the Irish." Favorite and cherished personal tea cups were used and the stories told about the cups were enjoyed by all.
Fall Swap Shop: On December 1, branch members happily searched for new treasures among the "cast- off" trays, books, lamps, dishes, scarves, paintings, jackets and dresses (previously owned by other members) to take home to cherish as their very own. What a fun morning! The many remaining items were donated to charity.
Harvest Tea Party: On November 4, a tea party was held -- "a gathering of AAUW friends, new and old." The members welcomed prospective members and enjoyed meeting four new members. A great time was had by all!
