     the Women's Resource Center. 


 RECAP:

October 22, Elementary School for six city council candidates. Our co-president Shirley Summers moderated (see photo right).  Each candidate made an opening and closing talk, and then, in turn, answered written questions from the audience.  It was a very successful and informative evening.  



Saturday, September 6: A delicious and plentiful potluck "Kick-Off Brunch" was held and enjoyed in Fellowship Hall at the Community Church.  Guests and prospective members were introduced. 

Our "Back To School" program featured a presentation by three of our nine 2008 Tech Trek campers.

In addition, a Power Point presentation was made regarding AAUW's latest published research "Where the Girls Are."  This was followed with a lively round-table discussion regarding what data appeared significant to us, and what we felt we could do in our own community to support this vital project.  It was a fun and "energy giving" program -- a great way to "kick off" our branch year. 

 

 

 FUTURE PROGRAMS - MARK YOUR CALENDAR NOW:  

January 10th, 12 noon:  "Where The Girl's Are."  Program: Girt Scouts.  Sponsored by the Santa Maria AAUW Chapter.  AAUW-Atascadero branch is invited to attend this catered "box lunch" luncheon: $8.00-$9.50.  Location TBA. Reservations required; carpooling suggested.

January 25th, 12 noon:  Joint meeting with the Paso Robles chapter.  Program: "Place/Role of women in the Muslim World" by Russ Surber.

February (date and time tea):   Interbranch Brunch at Cal Poly.

March 18th,  "Women's History, Hannah.  Held in the Martin Polin Room at the Atascadero Library.

April 15,   Global Fund for Women.  Held in the Martin Polin Room at the Atascadero Library.
