Atascadero Branch members are invited to attend as many of the open interest sections as suits their fancy.
Ravenous Readers – meets on the second Tuesday at 7:00 pm Chair: Janice E. Graham, 466-2637 Enjoy sharing biographies, autobiographies and a variety of novels. Annual book selection and potluck is in August. Membership is open Crime & Wine – meets on the first Monday at 7:00 pm. Chair: Georgie Arnold, 461-1896 Enjoy mysteries and friendship. Discussion leader and hostess rotate. Membership is now closed. Crime & Wine II – meets on the third Monday at 7:00 pm. Chair: Barbara Weymann, 462-1661 Enjoy mysteries and friendship. Discussion leader and hostess rotate. Membership is now open. Budding Bookies – meets the fourth Thursday at 7:00 pm. Chair: Kathy McCarey, 460-9496 Enjoy lively discussions of current and classic fiction and non-fiction. Discussion leader and hostess rotate. Membership is now closed. New Book Group – meeting time pending Chair: Jan Price, 466-4195 The group will determine reading selections. Membership is now open. Great Decisions – meets on the first Monday at 1:00 pm, or the third Tuesday at 1:00, or the third Friday at 7:00 Chair: Kaye Rasband, 461-5797 Provocative discussion group regarding topics selected by the Foreign Policy Association. For the Monday group, contact Kaye Rasband; for Tuesday, Belle Mason (266-0670); and for the evening group, Shirley Summers (466-1923). Mah Jongg -- meets every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:00 am. Chair: Martha Pedersen, 464-0548 The group meets at the Atascadero Association of Retired Persons building, between the Lake Pavilion and the Zoo. Membership in that group is required. The group is open. Beginners are welcome. Hiking Group – meeting times vary Chair: TBD Informal hikes in the Atascadero area. Individual group members take turns organizing the hikes. Difficulty level will vary Movie Group – day and time pending Chair: Diane O’Neil Support the showing of independent films at the Galaxy Theater while having fun with AAUW friends. International Potluck Group – meets monthly on a Friday evening Chair: Julie Moody, Enjoy potluck dining with an international flavor. Women’s Sports Boosters – day/time depends on team schedules Chair: Liz Helgerson, 462-9221 Come out to support young women athletes. Knitting Group -- last Monday of the month at 1:00 pm.
